Privacy
How Newspaper handles analytics consent, feedback, outbound sources, and local storage.
Analytics is optional
Google Analytics loads only after you allow it. Newspaper disables advertising signals and uses the consent choice stored in your browser. The primary measurement is whether an edition receives sustained reading.
Local Newspaper request
Your IP address is used only after you choose Generate my local paper. It is sent to the disclosed IP geolocation provider to estimate a city, region, country, and timezone; Newspaper does not write the raw address into the local-edition job or archive. The provider may retain limited request logs under its own privacy terms, and IP location can be inaccurate.
Coarse cache and abuse control
Local editions are cached by sanitized city/region/country and date so nearby readers can reuse one paper. A rotating one-way request token may temporarily limit repeated generation; it is not displayed and is not used to build a reader profile.
No Newspaper account
Newspaper does not require an account and does not ask for personal information to read an edition. Source links lead to third-party publishers with their own privacy practices.
Feedback
The shared Forge feedback control accepts anonymous reports and an optional reply email. Contributor credit is separately optional. Feedback is handled by Logan Pendragon Forge.
Your choice
If you decline analytics, the paper remains fully usable. You can clear the `newspaper_analytics_consent` browser storage key to be asked again. Local generation is also optional and begins only from its explicit button.
